You can feel the city changing with the seasons.
The sun is falling a little earlier every day, and you can see people basking in it, instead of hiding from it. With the change in lighting, comes the change in landscape, and although you’ve walked by a certain street or building every day, the shift in shadows make it look completely new. The weather is getting cooler, and the crispness in the air brings the smell of all the wonderful foods in this city, right to your nose. You can see a twinge of color invading the green on all the trees lining our blocks. Couples are clutching each other’s arms a little tighter on their walk home at night. No more air conditioning on the subway, and people seem happy about it.
Fall is almost here, and it is so beautiful to feel these changes. It wakes you up, and reminds you time has passed, and the next time you see summer, you will have been through another year of life.
