I was born and raised in New York City in the 1980s and spent most of my adult life there. I’ve been a photographer for decades, but the work I’ll share here, my street photography from 2007 to 2019, is my favorite chapter.
These photos capture a New York where people still looked up. Before smartphones took over, there was still space for thought, stillness, and observation. This is the story of that city, told through images.
I don’t know if anyone will ever see these photographs, but I’m creating this site as a kind of time capsule, so that maybe, in a future shaped entirely by AI, someone might stumble upon these remnants of human life.
I could never recreate it. That version of the world is gone.
